As co-chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), France hosted its fourth OGP Global Summit 2016 in Paris. The Partnership gathered 70 member countries and hundreds of civil society organizations that promote transparency, citizen participation and democratic innovation. Although Nepal is not a member yet the Chief Commissioner of the National Information Commission, Krishna Hari Baskota represented Nepal in the summit this year.
Kathmandu Living Labs conducted an Open Mapping and Civic Learning course at Kasthamandap Vidyalaya. Secondary and higher secondary level students were taught some mapping and data visualization skills and to help them conduct research projects for their communities. Accountabilility lab is conducting a survey, collecting data on post earthquake migration issues in four district including Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading and Nuwakot. The survey will look into assessing current situation of of migration in ground, level of people's awareness in the issue, support they needed, reason why they migrate etc.
YoungInnovations in collaboration with Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) and Law Policy and Research is hosting a workshop on "V-Dem Data from a Regional Perspective: Insights from Nepal’ . The workshop will focus on the V-Dem data from a user's and practitioner's perspective. It will focus on the case of Nepal, and will, in addition to providing background information on V-Dem and the data, give the participants time to learn how use the tools/data under the guidance of V-Dem representatives.
NGO Federation of Nepal is hosting Nepal SDG Forum meeting to further the discourse on effective implementation of the SDGs in Nepal. The meeting will be attended by major focus groups and major thematic groups under the Nepal SDGs forum that is coordinated by the NGO Federation of Nepal. The meeting aims to facilitate exchnage of information between the member NGOs on their on-going SDGs efforts and get updates on the future plans for SDGs.

Kathmandu Living Labs organized a mapping event where OSM (Open Street Map) volunteers gathered to remotely map flood prone areas in Mexico as well as flood prone areas of Bardiya and Gulariya in western Nepal. They partnered with IIASA and Practical Action to supplement the remote mapping with field mapping and ground truthing.
